The ideas portrayed in J.M. Castellet's literary thought show the different theories developed about literary matters during the last decades in our country. However, above all his ideological and aesthetic supports, there is something that remains alive along his work and that is his adherence to his contemporaneousness and to the ideological, political and sociological implications in the literature of his time. His idea of a real literary work is the expression of its time and its contents, and therefore, its form are determined by the fashion and the inclinations of an age is a literary theory whose evolutive methodological result seems to be the one of the consideration of the relativity of analitycal methods and the one for a flexibility, logically anti-dogmatic, by which the whole of the literary work can be taken on.
