This article is about the versions of La Celestina which were performed at stages of Madrid between 1940 and 1978. These performances —Lluch, Escobar-Pérez de la Ossa, Casona-Osuna, Cela-Tamayo— show the evolution which was experimented by Spanish society from the forties to the years of «la transición política» and also show that politics, economy, society and theatre are very interrelated.
