Pedro Estala como ‘censor mensual’ en el diario de Madrid (1795-1798)

The purpose of this article is to prove that the critic hidden below the pseudonym of El censor mensual in the Diario de Madrid between 1795-1798, was not fray Juan Fernández de Rojas, as everybody has affirmed till now, but the hellenist Pedro Estala. We analyse the reasons that have led to this misunderstanding, we offer the relevant proves to base our thesis and then, we expose the process by the Diario de Madrid includes a section in which a critic judges what has been published the last month. From this platform. Estala will defend a literature conception bases on the classical theory of Poetry, that refuses the middling art.
