The proof-readings of the editio princeps of La pícara Justina

The current paper deals with the study of the printing corrections that were made to the first edition of La pícara Justina. To do so, eleven copies of the editio princeps have been analyzed. The analysis of several copies not only allows us to explain the meaning of several passages, but also to draw some conclusions on the orthography of that period, the calligraphy of the printer’s manuscript and the typology of the mistakes that were made by the composers. Also, the comparative analysis might show some light on the possible participation of the author during the editing process in the Printing House.
