This paper analyses Fernando Quiñones’ poetic work and, in particular, the model of «poetic chronicle», collections of large poems about a section of a geographic-cultural civilization with a common history. With the usual lyrical impulse of poetry, they contain great amount of narration, poetry read in an epic manner or as in the cantares de gesta, with the presence of history, on a cultivated almost essayistic base.
