Vicente Aleixandre, Guillermo de Torre, Exile, Losada Publishing HouseAbstract
Although brief, Guillermo de Torre and Vicente Aleixandre maintained an epistolary dialogue between 1948 and 1966 that revolves around literary and editorial matters. Aleixandre was concerned that his work would spread throughout Latin America and also made representations to Losada on behalf of his friend Miguel Hernández. On the other hand, the letters reveal the common liberal background of both correspondents and the attempt to build a bridge of dialogue between the less sectarian members of the internal and external exile. Although in an elliptical manner, Aleixandre shows his satisfaction with the fall of the Peronist regime and his desire for something similar to happen in Spain.
