This paper brings light on the valuable research that Guillermo Montes Cala, Professor of Greek Philology at the University of Cádiz, was carrying out at the time of his death, and offers the ongoing advance in this study as well. It details precisely how Luis Cernuda found the quote from Goethe that headed Ocnos and how the quote suggested the title for his first collection of prose poems.
