Happiness comedy places in the escape drama, which was practised by some outstanding authors of Franco's dictatorship. This genre has been frequently considered as a kind of answer to a mediocre reality and an invitation to imagination in order to compensate it. However, in the case of some authors like Edgar Neville, happiness comedy had a more direct relation with the vital experience of a cultured and refined minority, that had always been prepared to make the most of a happiness wich, for them, was not only the illusion of a stage.
