In this article we find the main characteristics of the literary style referred to as 'sacred conceptism' and they are applied by the composer Joan Pau Pujol (1570-1626) from Mataro (Barcelona). On the one hand, the intention is to carry out a reading as well as a plausible exegesis of these texts with an eucharistical subject and, on the other, to establish a collation with the texts by coetaneous poets, such as Alonso de Ledesma (c. 1562-1633) and José de Valdivieso (1560-1638). Obviously, the conceptist aesthetic's greatest masterpiece is also taken into account, the Agudeza y arte de ingenio by Baltasar Gracián; this work, although later in time than the analysed texts, represents the high point of a previous process, perfectly assimilated since poets such as the abovementioned Alonso de Ledesma.
