The reception of the strike in Asturias by the New York left-wing press: new data about María Teresa León and Rafael Alberti in 1935

Although the Alberti-León couple’s long voyage in the year of 1935 is well known, still are some questions to answer about the labour developed by both writers during the month they visited United States, just before they continued their trip towards Central America and the Caribbean. In the present article I show a sorted list of facts under the light of new documental discoveries and within the context of the reception of the events of the Asturias’ revolutionary strike in the New York leftist newspapers and press.
